App store apps
A lot of the app store apps for the iPad are stupid and gimmicky. There are a dearth of free apps in the store that do not want to you to update to some stupid “pro” version as if a GAME has anything to do with work or being Professional. Fuck off, developers. And then there are the ones that come off as free and then they don’t let you sustain the world or whatever, and then offer to let you buy resources. Again, fuck off developers. Then the free apps that are dominated by ads, popovers, and offers to upgrade. The paid apps are usually better because the developer has incentive to actually make a good app but some are just stupid ripoffs of internet flash games (Example 1. I dig it, by InMotion software, an iphone game where you mine the earth, Motherload, an internet flash game that has been around since before the iphone ven existed which has a REMARKABLE resemblance to I Dig It.) Fuck off developers #3.
Social networking apps of which half are thrown together facebook apps, would represent a quarter but all of the apps have two copies, one being the “Professional” version of letting you access facebook to chat it up with the neighborhood slut. Very professional if you ask me you fuckbagging little shitstain of an application developer. #4. The ones I hate the most are the ones that directly offer conversion of real money to stupid in game currency. No thank you, money grubbing scumbagging hoes, you’re worse than ACTIVISION? Have something to say for yourself?! “Oh I’m trying to make a living developing iPhone applications” Well then DEVELOP A GOOD APP, not try to make me pony up for your stupid ShitBux! If you’re going to develop an app, work on it and don’t treat it like something you can just poke at and have it sprout money!
If I ever develop apps, the free ones won’t have ads and the paid ones (which I doubt i’ll even try) will have more than 3 HOURS of work put into them. The audacity of some little app store goonies pisses me off.
I’d like to call out a few GOOD APPS WHICH ARE WORTH THE MONEY
Mercury browser for iPad: FULL FEATURED, DEVELOPER WORKED ON IT
Angry Birds: Ok rovio, the mighty eagle feature is a little weird but its a one time addition and its only a buck, and the number of levels included are astounding.
Engadget
Twitter: Both have almost no ads and look very good and are easy to use and functional.
Dropbox: nice free service
Marquee: used to be free, 99c now, useful to notify anyone from a distance with huge scrolling text
PODCASTER: ONE OF THE BEST APPS I HAVE EVER SEEN I LOVE YOU ALMERICA YOU ARE EPIC. Useful replacement for failed iTunes feeds.
U mad bro? YES. But, there are good apps, just keep looking and sorting through the pile of shit chunk apps to find the good ones.
