Girl gamers, sexism, general blather…
Maybe tl;dr
As we all know, girl gamers and all that sort of stuff is a bit of an issue with “male gamers” or the typical majority of the community that play FPS’s and the like. The ideal Girlfriend for a Guy Gamer is a Girl Gamer, If i can assume this, so why do many guys act like **** to girls online (yes everyone, you too, im looking at you there reading the thread). Even I admit to being an asshat sometimes. But the reality of it is is that you should just treat a girl gamer as you would a guy, and not be a douche about it (Get back to the kitchen, **** or GTFO, you’re fat, get off MW2, suck me, wanna see my dick, add me plz, etc). You’re just fooling yourself if you think someone that is a girl online is going to be your girlfriend just because you ask her to. Likely she has been treated like **** all the time and is jaded to all of the pickup lines. And lets face it that a lot of gamers are a bit antisocial, so most of us do not have girlfriends (me too). And i dont care if you think it is sexist for me to say that most girls do play PC rpgs or wii or DS or Sims because they do. The girls I know that play games play that, and the ones I’ve met on PSN play rpgs most of the time.
The point is stop being a dick and take a reality check, you aren’t getting any action through XBL or PSN, and you probably won’t until you grow up (I’m talking 20’s) and learn some social skills. I’m fine with not having a girlfriend at the moment, and if you still spend 4+ hours/day gaming, you should be too becuase I don’t see the majority of under 18 gamers getting girlfriends as very likely.
I’m thinking that part of the reason girls do not play FPS’s like COD or BFBC2 etc is because it is a hostile environment. We’ve all trash talked people online (don’t lie to me) and IMO most girls don’t want to be a part of that. My sister thinks my trash talking (i dont do it as often as most) is funny and when I asked her she said that she would not find it annoying to get trash talked as long as she could do the same but she also said that all the sexist comments would deter her from it (get back to the kitchen, etc).
Also, on threads started by girls, dont say “oh add me, im not an ass like them Im nice”, because we all know you are just trying to get a girlfriend (lying to yourself). Pickup lines are invariably obvious. Just act like you are in the same room I guess. Ask yourself “would I offend this person or make them kick me in the groin for saying this?”
